搓球是用球拍搓击球的左或右侧下部与球托底部， 使球向右侧或左侧旋转与翻滚过网。搓球有正手
搓球和反手搓球。
正手搓球：侧身对右边网前，正手握拍。球拍随着前臂伸向右前上方斜举。当球拍举至最高点时，前臂向外旋 转，手腕由后伸至稍内收闪动，握拍手的食指和拇指夹住拍，中指、无名指和小指轻握拍柄，使球拍在手腕和手指 的挥摆用力下，搓击来球的右下底部，使球旋转翻滚过网（图31、图32）。
反手搓球：击球前前臂稍往上举，手腕前屈，手背约与网同高，而拍面低于网顶，反拍面迎球。搓球时，主要靠 前臂的前伸外旋和手腕由内收至外展的合力，搓击球的右侧后底部，使球侧旋滚动过网（图33）。
