吊球是自后场打到对方前场向下坠落的球。吊球技 术分为正手、反手和头顶三种手法，按球的飞行弧线和击球动作的不同分为劈吊、拦截吊和轻吊。劈吊击球前动作和打高球、杀球相似。击球时用力较轻，带有劈切动作，落点一般离网较远。拦截吊是把对方击来的平高球拦截回去，击球时用拍面正对来球，轻轻拦切或点击，使球以较平的弧线、较慢的速度越网垂直下坠。轻吊击球前动作和打高球相似，击球时拍面正对来球，在触球的刹那，突然减速或轻切来球，使球刚一过网即下坠。
正手吊球：击球准备和前期动作同正手高球。只是击球时拍面稍向内倾斜，手腕作快速切削下压动作，击球托的后部和侧后部。若吊斜线球时，则球拍切削球托右侧并向左下方发力；若吊直线球，则拍面正对前方向下方切削（图24）。
反手吊球：击球准备和前期动作同反手高球。不同点在于击球时拍面的掌握和力量的运用。吊直线球时，用球拍反面切削球托的后中部，向对方的右半场网前发力；吊斜线球时，用球拍反面切削球托的左侧，朝对方左半场网前发力（图25）。
头顶吊球：击球准备和前期动作同头顶高球。头顶吊斜线球时，中指、无名指和小指屈指外拉拍柄，使拍子内旋，拍面前倾，以斜拍面击球托左侧部位；头顶吊直线球时，球拍击球托的正中部位（图26）。
